Withdrawal Request

Beginner
Payout RulesAlso known as: payout request, withdrawal submission

A formal request submitted by a funded trader to withdraw their profit share from the prop firm. Most firms require traders to submit requests through a dashboard or portal during eligible payout windows, after which the firm reviews and processes the payment.

Why It Matters

  • 1The withdrawal request process varies by firm and understanding it prevents delays in receiving your money.
  • 2Some firms process requests automatically within 24 hours, while others have manual review periods of 3-5 business days.
  • 3Most firms require you to close all open positions before submitting a withdrawal request, and some freeze your account during processing.
  • 4Knowing the exact process — when to submit, what conditions must be met, and how long processing takes — ensures smooth cash flow management.

Example

On your bi-weekly payout date, you log into your firm's trader dashboard. Your account shows $3,200 in available profit. You close all open positions, then submit a withdrawal request for the full amount. At your 80% profit share, the firm processes $2,560 to your bank account. The remaining $640 goes to the firm. Your trading account balance resets, and you can resume trading after processing is complete.

Common Mistakes

  • Submitting a withdrawal request with open positions, which may get rejected
  • Not meeting all conditions (minimum trading days, minimum profit) before requesting
  • Expecting instant processing — most firms need 1-5 business days
