LucidDaily: A Prop Firm Program Built Around Choice

Lucid Trading's LucidDaily lets traders customize their account's risk at checkout — Daily Loss Limit on/off and EOD or Intraday drawdown — on a daily-payout evaluation with a path to live capital. Here's how every piece works.

Most prop trading challenges hand traders a rulebook and expect them to adapt. Lucid Trading's new LucidDaily program flips that dynamic, so instead of adapting to one fixed rule set, traders build the account that adapts to them.

At its core, LucidDaily is a daily payout evaluation program. But what sets it apart isn't just the payout structure, it's the ability to customise your account's risk parameters at the moment of purchase. Rather than a one-size-fits-all challenge, Lucid gives traders two key dials to turn, letting them shape the account around their own trading style and risk appetite.

In the sections ahead, we'll break down exactly what can be customised, how those choices affect pricing, and how to pick the configuration that matches your trading style.

Customization: Building Your Account

  • Daily Loss Limit — on or off. This setting applies throughout the entire account lifecycle, meaning it stays active in both the evaluation and the funded phase.
  • Evaluation Drawdown — End-of-Day (EOD) or Intraday. This one only governs how drawdown is measured during the evaluation. Once a trader gets funded, the account switches to Intraday drawdown regardless of what was chosen for the evaluation — the EOD option simply doesn't carry over.

How LucidDaily Works

Choosing Daily Loss Limit ON paired with an Intraday evaluation drawdown gives traders the cheapest version of the account, as both settings add tighter, more immediate monitoring in exchange for a lower price. On the other end, selecting Daily Loss Limit OFF with an End-of-Day evaluation drawdown comes at a premium, since traders get more room to let trades breathe without a daily cap or real-time drawdown tracking during the evaluation.

Regardless of size or configuration, LucidDaily runs on a one-time payment, so there's no monthly rebilling to worry about. There's no activation fee, and the evaluation phase itself carries no time limit, so traders aren't racing a clock to hit their profit target.

That said, since account settings are locked in at purchase and can't be changed once active, traders should be confident in their configuration before checking out. Switching to a different setup later means starting over with a new account purchase.

The Evaluation

Account SizeProfit TargetMax Loss LimitMax Size
$25,000$1,250$1,0002 mini or 20 micros
$50,000$3,000$2,0004 mini or 40 micros
$100,000$6,000$3,0006 mini or 60 micros
$150,000$9,000$4,50010 mini or 100 micros
Once a trader hits their profit target, the upgrade to a funded account isn't a waiting game — activation happens in real time, typically within 5 to 30 minutes.

The Rules

Drawdown

Drawdown governs how a trader's Max Loss Limit (MLL) moves as their account grows. Pick Intraday, and the MLL climbs in real time with floating P&L. Pick End-of-Day (EOD), and it only adjusts based on where the balance sits when the session closes. Note, this choice only applies during the evaluation, since every LucidDaily funded account runs on Intraday drawdown.

Either way, the MLL keeps rising alongside account growth until it hits a defined ceiling, at which point it locks in place for good, sitting just $100 above the account's starting balance. Breach that MLL at any point, and the account is done.

Daily Loss Limit

The Daily Loss Limit (DLL) is a soft breach that caps how much a trader can lose in a single day before being locked out until the next session, meaning the account itself survives as long as the MLL hasn't also been hit.

Whatever a trader picks at checkout carries through the entire account lifecycle. Choose DLL On, and a fixed cap applies in both the evaluation and funded phases. Choose DLL Off, and there's no daily cap at either stage. The fixed amounts scale with account size, ranging from $600 on the 25K account up to $2,700 on the 150K.

Consistency

Every LucidDaily evaluation carries a 50% consistency requirement. It's calculated by taking your Largest Single Day Profit and dividing it by your Total Account Profit, and coming in at 50% or below clears a trader to upgrade.

A small built-in cushion gives fast movers room to pass in as little as two days, though it scales with each trader's actual profits rather than being fixed. Once an account reaches funded status, the rule disappears entirely.

The Funded Account

Once a trader clears the evaluation, the terms change in their favour: no consistency rule, daily payout requests, and a 90/10 profit split. Drawdown stays Intraday across the board, and contract sizes carry over unchanged from the evaluation. The only variable is the Max Loss Limit, scaling from $1,000 on the 25K account to $4,500 on the 150K.

One rule carries a hard line, though: news trading is off-limits. Around any red-folder news event, traders must be flat one minute before through one minute after — no open or newly opened positions during that window. Breaking this rule is a hard breach.

Payouts

All funded account payouts follow a 90/10 split — 90% to the trader, 10% to Lucid Trading.

Getting paid from a LucidDaily account comes down to two straightforward eligibility checks, plus a few structural details worth knowing upfront.

Eligibility: Two Boxes to Check

1. Profit above the buffer balance. Every account carries a buffer, which is a safety cushion equal to the Initial Max Loss Limit plus $100, and payouts can only be pulled from profit sitting above that line, never from the buffer itself:

Account SizeBuffer Balance
$25,000$26,100
$50,000$52,100
$100,000$103,100
$150,000$154,600

2. Positive net profit since the last payout. Even $1 in fresh profit since the previous request is enough to qualify — this simply confirms a trader made something in the interim.

Meet both, and a payout can be requested.

Maximum Daily Profit

Unlike Lucid's other plans, LucidDaily doesn't cap individual payout requests. Instead, there's a ceiling on how much simulated profit can be earned in a single day. Hit or exceed it, and the account is automatically moved live:

Account SizeMaximum Daily Profit
$25,000$6,000
$50,000$8,000
$100,000$10,000
$150,000$12,000

The Fine Print

  • Minimum payout: $500 per request
  • Maximum payout: capped only by profit built above the buffer
  • Timing: no fixed payout schedule. Traders can request any day once eligible
  • Processing: funds deduct from the account within minutes of approval, with payouts landing in the trader's account within 2 business days

Going Live

Passing the evaluation and getting funded isn't necessarily the final stop. LucidDaily includes a path to live capital for traders who prove themselves over time.

How Traders Get Selected

  • Hit the Maximum Daily Profit for their account size
  • Have been paid out a significant amount of capital over their lifetime with Lucid
  • Show exceptional performance in a SIM-funded account
  • Have previously been moved live before

Meeting one of these doesn't guarantee a move to live, as the final call sits with Lucid's risk team.

What Happens to Sim Profits

When a trader transitions, their funded account's buffer balance becomes the starting drawdown for the live account, and it isn't withdrawable. Any sim profit earned above that buffer can be paid out once KYC and sub-account approval with Lucid's broker partner are complete, but that payout is capped at a flat $15,000 regardless of account size and regardless of how many accounts a trader holds.

The Transition Itself

Each eligible funded account converts into one live account, but only if that account has received at least one payout first. Every live account starts fresh:

Funded Account SizeStarting Live DrawdownMax Live Contract Limit
$25,000$1,0002 minis or 20 micros
$50,000$2,0004 minis or 40 micros
$100,000$3,0006 minis or 60 micros
$150,000$4,50010 minis or 100 micros

Live accounts begin at a $0 balance, keep daily payouts, switch to EOD drawdown, and drop the Daily Loss Limit entirely.

One quirk worth knowing: the switch to live happens every evening after the 6 PM EST session report, and accounts are paused with all positions flattened during that process, even if a trade is open. To keep things fair, Lucid uses each trader's prior day closing balance as their starting point live, so nothing gained or lost during the transition session counts.

If Things Go Wrong

Blow a live account, and there's a standard 2-week cooldown before a new evaluation can be purchased — though reckless or "yolo" trading patterns can extend that at the risk team's discretion.

A Few Ground Rules

  • All eligible funded accounts move live together — there's no cherry-picking one and leaving others behind.
  • Any remaining sim accounts close automatically upon the move to live; unpaid evaluations are refunded, but this means traders shouldn't keep evaluations "in reserve" if they're not ready to lose them.
  • Household members can't trade sim accounts while one person in the household is live.
  • Hedging live accounts is strictly banned by both Lucid and the CME, and violations will result in a permanent ban.

What LucidDaily Offers Traders

LucidDaily's biggest departure from the standard prop firm formula is choice. Traders pick their own risk settings at checkout rather than being locked into one rigid rulebook. From there, the program rewards patience: no clock on the evaluation, built-in room in the consistency rule, and once funded, daily payouts with a 90/10 split and no consistency requirement holding traders back.

For traders who know their risk tolerance, that's a rare degree of control. For everyone else, it's worth studying the four configurations closely before committing, because with LucidDaily, the account is only as good as the choice made at the start.
