Lucid: On-Demand Payouts and a Plan Builder

From Sunday 19 October, Lucid Trading accounts with a Daily Loss Limit can request a payout the moment their objectives are complete, and LucidDaily accounts can take several payouts in one session. Flex and Daily evaluations get a 40% consistency option, 50K Flex without a Daily Loss Limit gets more expensive, and a fully customizable plan builder is on the way. Here is what changes and who it applies to.

Lucid Trading, the futures prop firm behind LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect, has announced its next phase: handing traders the levers it has always used to balance its plans. Lucid frames its rules as trade-offs. Remove a rule and the price goes up; make the evaluation harder and the price comes down. Its answer is to let traders make those trade-offs themselves.

The first changes go live on Sunday 19 October at 5 PM EST, with a kickoff promotion at the same time. The biggest is payouts on demand for accounts that trade with a Daily Loss Limit. This article covers what changes, which accounts it applies to, and how it compares with the rules today.

On-Demand Payouts

Today, every Lucid sim funded plan already has no fixed payout window: a trader can request a payout on any day once the eligibility rules for that plan are met, and payouts are disbursed within 2 business days. What changes is how quickly a request can follow the objectives. From Sunday, a trader with the Daily Loss Limit switched on can request a payout the moment the dashboard shows all objectives complete.

Lucid's reasoning is fraud. Shortening the time between payout requests reduces the time Lucid has to validate trading activity, and the firm says the hedging and group-trading activity it guards against lives mostly in accounts without a Daily Loss Limit. A Daily Loss Limit is a strong deterrent to that behaviour, so on-demand payouts are tied to it.

LucidDirect has no Daily Loss Limit option, so the change does not reach it.

What Still Applies

On-demand describes when a payout can be requested, not whether the plan's payout rules still apply. Each plan keeps its own conditions:

PlanWhat has to be complete before a request
LucidProThe payout profit goal for the cycle, the 40% consistency percentage, and profit above the buffer balance
LucidFlex5 trading days with the minimum daily profit and positive net profit in the payout cycle; up to 50% of profit per payout, 5 payouts per account
LucidDailyProfit above the buffer (the initial Max Loss Limit plus $100)

The minimum request stays $500 on every plan, and payouts keep the 90/10 profit split.

Several Payouts in One Session on LucidDaily

LucidDaily was already Lucid's daily-payout plan: a trader above the buffer can request a payout on any trading day, with no fixed maximum per request (the cap is a Maximum Daily Profit instead). From Sunday, a LucidDaily account with the Daily Loss Limit on can request more than once within a single session. A trader no longer has to wait for the next trading day to take a second payout from the same account.

A 40% Consistency Option on Flex and Daily Evaluations

LucidFlex and LucidDaily evaluations use a 50% consistency rule today: no single day can make up more than half of the profit target. Lucid is adding a 40% option for both. A stricter consistency rule makes an evaluation harder to pass in one or two big days, so the 40% version is priced lower. Lucid says that for most accounts it makes for a cheaper evaluation.

Pricing

Lucid says it will tune prices as each new configuration rolls out and it sees how the data moves. Two changes are named:

  • LucidDaily prices have already come down.
  • 50K LucidFlex with the Daily Loss Limit off is getting a meaningful price increase. Lucid says its traders are now split evenly between 50K Flex with the Daily Loss Limit on and off, and that the version without it needs rebalancing to bring it in line with the rest of the industry. Today the 50K LucidFlex evaluation lists at $146 with the Daily Loss Limit off and $131 with it on.

What Is Coming Next

  • An end-of-day funded LucidDaily, confirmed for before Thanksgiving.
  • A fully customizable plan builder. Lucid describes the add-ons it introduced over the last few months as the start of this. The goal is a plan built from the trader's own choices: no rules at a premium price, or the cheapest plan possible with every rule kept.
  • More configurations over the coming weeks, each followed by price adjustments.

The Bottom Line

Lucid is turning the Daily Loss Limit into a trade-off with a clear reward. Traders who accept a daily stop now get the fastest payouts Lucid offers, and on LucidDaily they can take several in one session. Traders who prefer no Daily Loss Limit keep today's payout timing and, at 50K Flex, will pay more for it.

The 40% consistency option points the other way: a slightly stricter evaluation for a lower price. Together with the plan builder Lucid is working toward, the direction is clear: fewer fixed plans, and more choices about which rules a trader is willing to live with. Full rules for every plan are on the Lucid Trading firm page.
