The call up is discretionary and reviewed case by case — the risk team weighs consistency, risk management, position sizing, products traded, use of stops, previous call-ups, payout history and overall account behaviour, and states it may happen earlier or later on that basis. Account size is the average funded tier of all active, eligible XFAs with at least one payout, rounded up to the nearest tier ($50K, $100K or $150K). The live starting balance is 20% of the cumulative XFA balance capped at that account size, with any excess forfeited rather than banked; if 20% falls under $10,000 Topstep supplements to the $10,000 minimum. The remaining 80% is held in Reserve, unlocking in four 25% increments as net profit equal to the tier's Combine profit target ($3,000 / $6,000 / $9,000) is earned. All XFAs close on the call up, and a Shoulder Tap can move a live trader back to sim. | |
