Topstep in my opinion is easily the most reliable prop firm in the space right now. They have the best rules and them only having 2 different account options make it really easy and non confusing to know what accounts you want to trade, whereas other firms have multiple account types to choose from. ProjectX is by far the best platform to trade on, and they dont have anymore "common" bugs like they used to have back in the day, where it was nearly a once a week occurence for thei website to have issues.

I began my prop firm trading with topstep. Great with beginners especially now that they have topstepX. The take profit and stop loss brackets are really useful as well as their lockout feature and very mobile friendly

Topstep will always be one of my top picks in regards to rules and payout. Gotten a hand full of payouts and verified. Straight forward with the rules - I'm on the DLL Consistency accounts. They have always focused on the trader and their success. Continuously improving their platform with tools that help traders keep most of the gains made and not over trade. Really like the new update Topstep has implemented on their payout process which is now faster than ever.

Honestly, Topstep has completely nailed it with the 50K Standard Path. What really sets them apart right now is the $4k max payout limit on the 50k account. Compared to the competition, who usually bottleneck your early withdrawals or cap you way lower, Topstep actually lets you pull a serious chunk of change out once you hit your targets. But easily one of the best things about them is the peace of mind you get on the funded stage. Once you pass, you can just trade freely without having to constantly stress over strict, annoying consistency rules. You can just focus on executing your edge properly instead of doing math in your head to make sure your best day doesn't disqualify you. Trading on the platform is incredibly smooth—the execution is instant, the dashboard is clean, and you don’t get those random, shady slippage spikes you see with cheaper, unvetted firms. On top of that, the payout process is as straightforward as it gets. No jumping through endless hoops, no weird delays; when you earn it, you request it, and you get paid.

overall its good simple rulesand cost is fine. the issue is you have to use projectx so if you use other platforms it could be an issue. but for me i had no issues overall a good experience. i haven't reached payout but some of my peers have and manage to get there payouts pretty quick. they rarely have promos but when they do there pretty good. topstep doesn't really have anything special about it to be honest so its not my go to. but its good for beginners.

Topstep was my top pick past years even though it was expensive than most ( standard accounts with activation fee) because its trading rules were better in my opinion, specially the payout limit being $5000 with no consistency rule for funded was my favorite. But nowadays there's better prop firms available with better prices and decent payout rules so it's no longer my first pick. Also I had some problems with their platform (Topstep X). With their customer support being more careless from time to time I no longer use them.
