BluSky Trading, the US futures prop firm, runs several plan families: Launch, Propel, Instant and Orbit. Orbit is the short route. It has only two phases, an evaluation with no consistency rule that can be passed in a single day, and a Funded account that opens at the full account size and pays a 90/10 split.
The rule traders most often get wrong is payout timing. Orbit payouts are on demand, but they are gated by a 40% consistency rule that cannot be met in fewer than three trading days and restarts after each payout. In practice that means a payout every three trading days at most. This article walks through every stage of Orbit as it works today.
The Evaluation
An Orbit plan is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The evaluation is valid for 30 days from purchase and expires if it is not passed; a reset gives a fresh account but does not restart the 30-day clock.
| Orbit 50K | Orbit 100K | Orbit 150K | Orbit 200K | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profit target | $3,000 | $6,000 | $9,000 | $8,000 |
| Drawdown | $2,000 EOD trailing | $3,000 EOD trailing | $4,500 EOD trailing | $3,000 static |
| Daily loss limit | None | None | None | None |
| Consistency | None | None | None | None |
| Max contracts | 5 minis / 50 micros | 10 minis / 100 micros | 15 minis / 150 micros | 3 minis / 30 micros |
| Reset | $129 | $199 | $279 | $279 |
There is no activation fee at funding, and nothing further to pay once the evaluation is passed.
The Funded Account
The Funded account opens at the full account size: a 50K Orbit account starts at $50,000.
| Orbit 50K | Orbit 100K | Orbit 150K | Orbit 200K | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starting balance | $50,000 | $100,000 | $150,000 | $200,000 |
| Drawdown | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,500 | $3,000 |
| Drawdown locks after | $2,000 net profit | $3,000 net profit | $4,500 net profit | $3,000 net profit |
| Payouts unlock above | $52,000 | $103,000 | $154,500 | $203,000 |
| Max contracts | 2 minis / 20 micros | 3 minis / 30 micros | 5 minis / 50 micros | 3 minis / 30 micros |
| Consistency | 40% | 40% | 40% | 40% |
| Daily loss limit | None | None | None | None |
The drawdown floor trails closed daily profit dollar for dollar. Once lifetime net profit equals the starting drawdown, the floor locks permanently at the starting balance, so the account can no longer fail below breakeven. That is the same point at which payouts unlock.
Payouts: Every Three Trading Days
| Orbit 50K | Orbit 100K | Orbit 150K | Orbit 200K | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profit split | 90/10 | 90/10 | 90/10 | 90/10 |
| Minimum payout | $500 | $500 | $500 | $500 |
| Rolling 7-day cap | $2,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $2,500 |
A payout can be requested once two conditions are met: the balance is above the unlock line in the table above, and the account is inside the 40% consistency rule. Payouts are on demand from that point. There is no fixed payout day.
The 40% Consistency Rule
BluSky divides the largest single profitable day by the sum of all profitable days. Losing days are left out entirely. The result must be no more than 40% when a payout is requested.
Two profitable days can never pass that test: the larger of two days is always at least 50% of their sum. The earliest a payout can be requested is therefore after three trading days. After every processed payout the consistency count starts again from zero, so the next payout needs another three trading days. That is what sets the payout rhythm.
Being outside the rule does not fail the account. It only blocks the payout request until further profitable days bring the percentage down.
Example, 50K account above $52,000.
| Day | Profit | Biggest day ÷ profitable days | Payout? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | $600 | 100% | No |
| Tuesday | $500 | 54.5% | No |
| Wednesday | $500 | 37.5% | Yes |
On Wednesday the trader requests $1,200. The count then restarts, so Thursday, Friday and Monday form the next window, and the earliest next request is Monday.
The Rolling 7-Day Cap
The cap is not a calendar week. Each approved payout uses up part of the cap, and that amount frees up exactly seven days after its approval.
Continuing the 50K example: $1,200 on Wednesday leaves $800 of the $2,000 cap. If the trader takes $800 on Monday, the cap is fully used. The $1,200 frees up the following Wednesday and the $800 the Monday after, so the next payout on the three-day rhythm is also within the cap.
The Brokerage Review
Each Orbit Funded account has a profit ceiling. Reaching it means stopping trading and contacting BluSky support for a Brokerage Review.
| Orbit 50K | Orbit 100K | Orbit 150K | Orbit 200K | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Funded profit ceiling | $10,000 | $12,500 | $15,000 | $12,500 |
While the review is open, the account cannot be traded and payouts may be held. Most reviews take about five trading days. The outcome is approval for Live Brokerage, a deferred decision while the trader builds more history, or a place in BluSky's Live Account Readiness Program. BluSky can also review any account at any time.
Called Up: Go Live or Take the Buyout
An approved trader chooses between two options.
1. Go Live. The Live Brokerage account starts at $0, with a live drawdown based on the qualifying account size, and eligible Funded profit goes into the Bonus Vault. Funded profit is never deposited as live trading capital.
2. Take the buyout. A one-time cash payment of 50% of the qualifying account's drawdown, followed by a cooldown before the trader can buy evaluations again.
| Orbit 50K | Orbit 100K | Orbit 150K | Orbit 200K | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Live starting balance | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| Live drawdown | $2,000 | $3,000 | $4,500 | $3,000 |
| Buyout instead | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,250 | $1,500 |
All Funded Accounts Close
The moment the Live Brokerage invitation is issued, every active Funded account the trader holds is complete, not only the one that hit the ceiling. Multiple Funded accounts do not become multiple live accounts: they are consolidated into one Live Brokerage account with one Bonus Vault. Trades or payout requests on any Funded account after the invitation is issued are not recognised and may be voided, whether or not the invitation has been opened.
The invitation is valid for five calendar days, within which onboarding (platform, agreements, KYC) must begin.
Trading Live
New live accounts may start in a Ramp-Up Period with reduced contracts, a daily loss limit and a set number of profitable days, typically 10, before a review to raise limits. Live payouts are processed on business days, with a $500 minimum and a 90/10 split. Market data is charged at the professional rate, $156 per exchange per month on Tradovate and Volumetrica. A breached live account closes and starts a 30-day cooldown.
The Bonus Vault
The Bonus Vault holds the trader's eligible Funded profit after the move to live. It never adds to the live balance or the live drawdown.
For every $10,000 in Live Brokerage payouts withdrawn, BluSky pays a $1,000 cash bonus from the vault, until it is empty. If less than $1,000 remains at the last step, the final bonus is the remainder.
Example: a trader goes live with $6,500 in the vault. Live payouts of $10,000 through $60,000 each release $1,000, leaving $500. At $70,000 in live payouts, the final $500 is paid and the vault is empty.
Each bonus must be requested while the live account is open and in good standing. If the live account is breached or closed, anything left in the vault is forfeited.
What Changed
| Before | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| Orbit payout frequency | Described as daily | Every three trading days, after the 40% consistency rule is met |
| Earliest payout | Any day above the threshold | After at least three trading days above the threshold |
The thresholds, caps, split and minimum are unchanged. Only the timing is clarified.
The Bottom Line
Orbit is BluSky's fastest plan to fund: one-day evaluations, no daily loss limit, a Funded account at full size and a drawdown that locks at breakeven. The payout side is quick but not daily. The 40% consistency rule makes three trading days the minimum between requests, and the rolling 7-day cap limits how much each request can take.
The other number to plan around is the profit ceiling. Once an Orbit account reaches $10,000 to $15,000 in profit, depending on size, the trader stops for review, and an invitation to live closes every Funded account at once. Traders running several Orbit accounts should take payouts with that in mind. Code SMART currently takes 30% off Orbit evaluations. Full rules are on the BluSky firm page.
