Consistency
Evaluation
- 50% consistency rule for Premium accounts.
- 50% consistency rule for Advanced accounts.
- No consistency rule for Zero accounts.
Qualified
- No consistency rule for Premium Qualified accounts.
- No consistency rule for Advanced Qualified accounts.
- 40% consistency rule for Zero Qualified accounts.
- The 40% rule on Zero Qualified accounts is calculated since the last payout request, and resets between each account withdrawal request.
Algorithmic Trading
All Account Types
- Semi-automated trading is permissible under the condition that traders actively monitor, manually manage, and understand the system and semi-automation's purpose.
- Any form of hands-off, continuous day and night trading, or any other type of full automation is strictly forbidden.
- Alpha Futures restricts the use of automated systems designed for high-frequency trading (HFT), particularly those resulting in over 100 trades per day.
- The use of AI, bots, and other automated trading mechanisms is strictly prohibited across all account types.
Scalping Rules
All Account Types
- Tick or micro scalping (trades less than 10 ticks AND less than 2 minutes) is prohibited.
- Consistently opening and closing positions less than 2 minutes to make profits without any plan is prohibited.
- There is no "must hold past X minutes" rule, and Alpha Futures understands that market volatility takes over sometimes.
- This is only an issue when it is a clear pattern in the trader's profit.
News Trading
Evaluation Accounts
- All evaluation accounts have no restrictions on news trading.
Qualified Accounts
- Premium Qualified accounts may hold through news releases following your trading plan, but no orders may be executed within 2 minutes before or after high impact news events.
- Advanced Qualified accounts have no news trading restrictions.
- Zero Qualified accounts may hold through news releases following your trading plan, but no orders may be executed within 2 minutes before or after high impact news events.
Reference & Scope
- High-impact events are identified using the ForexFactory calendar (red-folder events).
- The restriction applies to news affecting the asset being traded — for example, USD news for /ES, /NQ, /GC, and /CL.
- High-impact speeches follow the same 4-minute window (2 minutes before, 2 minutes after) and apply only to the listed start time.
Consequences for Violations
- A first violation results in a warning; subsequent breaches lead to account closure.
- Profits from trades executed within the restricted window are voided, and payouts tied to those trades are denied.
Daily Loss Guard (Daily Drawdown)
Evaluation
- No Daily Loss Guard on Premium or Advanced Evaluations.
- Zero Evaluations have a Daily Loss Guard of 2% of starting balance:
- 25K Zero Evaluation = -$500
- 50K Zero Evaluation = -$1,000
- 100K Zero Evaluation = -$2,000
Qualified
- No Daily Loss Guard on Premium Qualified Accounts.
- Zero Qualified Accounts have a Daily Loss Guard of 2% of starting balance:
- 25K Zero Qualified = -$500
- 50K Zero Qualified = -$1,000
- 100K Zero Qualified = -$2,000
- Advanced Qualified Accounts have no preset Daily Loss Guard, but traders may set one themselves on their trading platform.
Note: The Daily Loss Guard is a soft breach — when triggered, the system flattens all open positions, cancels pending orders, and prevents new trades until the next trading day (6 PM ET). It does not fail the account, and it should not replace stop losses.
Inactivity Rule
All Account Types
- Trading platforms archive trading data after 10 inactive trading days. To keep your account active you must place a trade at least once every 10 trading days (does not matter size of trade).
- Traders are encouraged to maintain active trading to qualify for payouts.
Copy Trading
Allowed
- Copy trading in general is permitted as long as it is a single user executing the trades, and it is the single individual listed on the Alpha Futures Accounts.
- Many platforms have built in trade copiers such as Tradovate.
Not Allowed
- Automated, Group, and Reverse Trading are strictly prohibited.
- Reverse trading or hedging, meaning going short on one account and long on the other is strictly prohibited at Evaluation and Qualified Phase.
- Collaborating with others to execute identical or opposite strategies across unconnected accounts is prohibited.
Additional Notes
- To avoid complications with copy trading, use your smallest account or one with the least amount of profit or leverage as your leader account.
- If the accounts have different leverage or buying power trades may not copy.
DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging)
Policy
- No rules against reasonable DCA on positions, but excessively stacking orders (known as "order book spamming") is taking advantage of the sim environment and will not be tolerated.
- Traders should avoid gambling tendencies or "account rolling", taking max leverage positions with no plan and no stop loss.
Passed Accounts
Alpha allows you to keep passed evaluation accounts, but sticking/rolling between accounts is not allowed. You may have up to 5 qualified Zero accounts, 5 qualified Premium accounts, or 3 qualified Advanced accounts at a time.
Max Number of Accounts
There is no limit on evaluation accounts. Up to 5 funded/qualified accounts on Zero or Premium, 3 on Advanced, with a maximum allocation of $750,000 (5 × 150K Premium).
Clear Path to Live
Transition Eligibility
Requirements
- The maximum balance a trader can achieve on a simulated Qualified Account is +$40,000 per account, or 5 payouts.
- Once achieved, or if the Alpha Futures team decides to take action before these thresholds, the trader will be called up to LIVE.
- Alpha Futures may also move traders to live at their discretion before these thresholds are met.
Balance Carried Forward
Process
- Once a trader's simulated Qualified Accounts are closed, Alpha Futures will process 50% of the account(s) profit, up to max withdrawal of each account, immediately as a withdrawal request.
- The trader is paid 90% of this balance (flat across all account types).
- Withdrawal totals at this stage are capped by the per-request maximum of the chosen account type (Zero: $1,000–$2,500 by size; Premium: tiered $3,000–$6,000; Advanced: $15,000).
- The other 50% of the remaining profit is allocated as follows:
- $5,000 is allocated to risk on the live account
- The rest of your leftover balance (remaining profit minus $5,000 allocated to risk) is split into a 12 month MONTHLY SALARY, as long as the trader is a live trader with Alpha.
Live Account Details
Starting Conditions
- Live traders have a starting balance of $10,000 static (non-trailing) drawdown account with scaling opportunities.
- The $10,000 live starting balance is funded jointly: $5,000 from the trader's simulated profits and $5,000 contributed by Alpha.
- 10:1 leverage is provided on the $10,000 account through Alpha's partnered brokerage.
- Daily Loss Limit (DLL) starts at $3,000 and scales as 30% of account balance as gains accumulate.
- Example: a $13,000 account has a $3,900 DLL.
- The DLL is not a breach — hitting it pauses trading until the next trading day, similar to the Advanced Account behavior.
Live Programs
Alpha offers two live programs at the time of transition; the trader selects one.
- Alpha Prime Program — 60% profit split, plus the 12-month Monthly Salary described above and additional partnership benefits (see "Alpha Prime Benefits" below).
- Generic Live Program — 80% profit split, no Monthly Salary, no additional Alpha Prime resources.
Rules
- No consistency rules on Live accounts.
- No news trading restrictions on Live accounts.
- Live Traders are eligible for daily payouts: if you made money that day, you can request a payout.
- No maximum withdrawal request on Live Accounts.
- Overnight / swing positions are permitted on Live (subject to overnight margin requirements with the partnered brokerage). This differs from the Evaluation/Qualified accounts where positions must be closed daily.
Alpha Prime Benefits
Alpha Prime treats live traders as a partnership — both firm and trader benefit, and the firm shares risk with the trader. Beyond the 60% profit split and Monthly Salary, Alpha Prime traders receive:
- Weekly calls with Alpha Prime Managers for strategy development, refinement, risk management, and market analysis.
- Quantitative Team support — opportunities to develop automated strategies with Alpha's in-house quant team.
- Trading floor visits — opportunities to visit the Alpha Prime trading floor in London.
- Risk & Performance Team mentorship — backed by more than 30 years of traditional prop firm experience.
- Scaling opportunities — performance-based increases to fund allocation and/or monthly salary as the trader demonstrates consistent profitability.
The Performance Team monitors for reckless trading or attempts to collect a monthly salary with minimum trade activity or gains.
